Soul Town Festival has announced a last-minute change to its line-up. Legendary singer Dionne Warwick will no longer be able to perform on Saturday 6 September after undergoing emergency surgery earlier this week.
Warwick, who has been managing leg pain, was scheduled for surgery on Monday, 1 September per medical advice. Although the surgery went well, recovery will take time, and per medical advice, no travel until fully fit. Festival organisers and fans have continued to send their best wishes for her recovery.
While this news is a disappointment to many, the Soul Town team has acted quickly (and lucky) to secure a fantastic replacement. Replacing Warwick is none other than Gabrielle, who is one of the nation’s most loved voices.
2× BRIT Award-winning and multi-Platinum artist Gabrielle first burst into the world of music and caught everybody’s attention in the early ’90s with the release of her debut single Dreams, which spent 3 weeks at No1 in the UK, and at the time, was record-breaking for the highest ever debut single for a solo female. Gabrielle has a had a fantastic career, and has gone on to give us numerous hits including UK #1 single Rise, 8 studio albums and over 30 singles. In 2001 her collection of greatest hits Dreams Can Come True, was 4× Platinum and one of The UK best-selling albums of 2001.
Gabrielle’s career spans three decades and with a busy touring schedule continuing until 2025, Gabrielle promises to deliver a memorable performance at Soul Town this year.
