The UK’s largest Latin Music festival returns for its 9th year on Sunday 20 July to Ealing’s Walpole Park, W5 with the news that Salsa is Back!
Following the world’s biggest reggaeton and pop artists, Bad Bunny and Rauw Alejandro, return to their roots with chart-topping salsa releases and LatinoLife will be celebrating the Latin-Caribbean genre with two Main Stage salsa headliners: TROMBORANGA, the world’s most successful salsa band and RENE ALVAREZ’ TRIBUTE TO HECTOR LAVOE, the voice of the iconic Fania label. In addition a NYC Salsa ‘Immersive Experience’ will transport festival goers to New York’s Golden Era of salsa, charanga and chachacha.
“While reggaeton may dominate the airwaves, salsa is still the music listened to on the streets of Latin America and in clubs all over the world. Most importantly, it’s the music that still gets us dancing,” says Amaranta Wright, festival director and founder of LatinoLife, UK’s only Latina-run National Portfolio Organisation. “Media pundits may be telling us that Bad Bunny and Rauw Alejandro have brought salsa back, but actually salsa never left. Salsa is still the music that brings families and friends together, which is what LatinoLife in the Park is all about.”
Also gracing the Main Stage, direct from Peru NOVA LIMA bring their unique fusion of Afro-Peruvian music and global DJ culture. In celebration of Colombian Independance Day, music from the Colombian-Venezuelan llanos will be performed for for the very first time at LatinoLife with the wonderful joropo group ZUMBAO.
We celebrate Mexico’s rich musical heritage with a full-on MARIACHI EXPLOSION and introduce rising-star MONTANERA whose intense vocal style and unique ambient electro-folk fusion is set to captivate audiences.
The big top tent is transformed into CLUB VIVA ARENA, London’s non-stop dance party, fuelled by the biggest Latin bangers and anthems from across reggaeton, bachata, Latin house, salsa, merengue and baile funk. In our now legendary URBAN MUSIC SHOWCASE, representing the London underground scene, the creme de la creme of UK urban Latin talent deliver their British-Latin spin on reggaeton, hiphop, drill and afrobeats. DJs & PA tba.
In our IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES festival-goers can immerse themselves in the rich and ancient cultures of Andean Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Chile at At CASA ANDINA with folk dance parades, cumbia, chicha, and electro-folk DJs, pisco cocktails, and delicious food. In NYC SALSA we invite you to soak up the sights and sounds of 1950-70s Spanish Harlem.
Plus VIP area, Kidz Zone, food stalls, cocktail bars, drumming workshops and much more!
