Black Rock City | Burning Man 2025

The idea lying behind Burning Man is a collective made up of people who share the values laid out in the Ten Principles and that gather to make something more creative and connected. The colossal Black Rock City that is the main venue for the eponymous event is the nerve centre of this community and serves as a symbolic and physical dwelling for the festival participants both. Throughout the year, emphasis is constantly placed on the construction of Black Rock City and on the laying of the foundation for the special culture that is developed there because of the gathering. The Burning Man Project, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose headquartering is in San Francisco, California, is the lead organization as regards these endeavors.

Mission Statement The Burning Man Project creates an infrastructure and provides support to a global community that is actively working towards bringing about positive change through events and activities that are interactive art, whose operations are driven by the values elucidated in the Ten Principles.

Vision The Burning Man Project is committed to giving people around the world experiences that are uncommon and, at the same time, joyful thereby bringing out the true change persons are capable of, changing lives, empowering communities to be stronger, and also spreading a culture of inclusion, creativity, self-expression, and civic engagement.

Programme Areas Borrowing Man provides the infrastructural and structural resources that help the realization of the Ten Principles in the local communities through six interrelated programme areas:

Arts: Both inside and outside the community, enabling and fostering creativity and the arts.Civic Involvement: Inclusion, and participation in the life and problems of the locality. Culture: It is a focus on the peculiar culture of the Burning Man event. Education: Building programs as a means to spread the principles and practices of Burning Man. Philosophical Centre: A thoughtful examination of the philosophical tenets that are the foundation of the values and actions of the community.
