Madrid Live Experience 2025 returns to the Gran Teatro CaixaBank Príncipe Pío

This September, Madrid will once again become a hub for music lovers of all ages as Madrid Live Experience returns to the Gran Teatro CaixaBank Príncipe Pío. Running from 24 to 30 September, this week-long concert series—backed by CaixaBank—brings a genre-spanning programme packed with household names, fresh talent, and something for the whole family.

Now a regular fixture on the capital’s cultural calendar, the festival strikes a rare balance: intimate yet high profile, international but unmistakably local, and with enough variety to keep indie fans, pop heads, flamenco lovers, and children equally entertained.

A Big Opening: Crystal Fighters Bring the Energy
The night belongs to Crystal Fighters as the opening act which is completely appropriate. The Anglo-Spanish band has developed a loyal following because of their catchy indie pop music combined with electronic elements and Basque folk traditions. The band started touring globally since their debut album Star of Love debuted in 2010 while performing festival shows and releasing hit tracks such as “You and I” and “Love Is All I Got.” Their recent album LIGHT+ which launched in late 2023 marks their return to the euphoric and genre-fluid sound that defines their music. On September 24 they will perform live in Madrid.

Marlon and the Rise of Spanish Pop-Rock
On 28 September, it’s the turn of Marlon, the Asturian trio at the forefront of Spain’s pop-rock resurgence. With a sound that’s heartfelt, radio-ready, and made for singing along, the band are touring their latest record, Que se Caiga el Cielo—an album that’s already earned them a devoted fan base and critical buzz. Expect a lively crowd, hands in the air, and more than a few choruses you’ll leave humming.

Two Legends, One Stage
If you prefer your music with a little more poetry, don’t miss Pedro Guerra and Javier Ruibal on 25 September. These two pillars of Spanish songwriting come together for a special joint performance that promises nuance, soul, and decades of musical wisdom. Ruibal, a Cádiz-born genre-blender who has a talent for fusing rock, jazz, and flamenco, and Guerra, who is renowned for his gentle lyricism and melodic warmth, will share the limelight—and probably some surprises.

Las Migas Light Up the Stage
On September 26, fans of flamenco can anticipate Las Migas’s return. Comprising Marta Robles, Alicia Grillo, and Laura Pacios, the award-winning group is renowned for their genre-defying sound, which incorporates elements of world music, jazz, and Latin rhythm with flamenco roots. Their live performances are full of musical surprises and are rich and emotional.

A Festival for Everyone
Madrid Live Experience isn’t just for adults. There is a focus on younger audiences in mind, with performances that will amuse both children and parents.

On the morning of 27 September, familiar children’s trio Pica-Pica presents ¡Hola Caracola! – an energetic, interactive show filled with colourful characters and crowd-singing songs like El Baile de la Fruta and Picapower. The fun continues in the evening on 28 September with Fetén Fetén, an instrumental duo who whimsically retake unforgotten Spanish dance traditions with odd instruments and abundant charm. Clever, playful music that brings generations together.

Intimate Moments to Close the Week
Two solo performers who perform in quite different styles round out the program.

Former Los Ronaldos frontman Coque Malla will perform a small set on September 29 that includes highlights from his extensive and diverse career. Malla is well-known for his unadulterated charm and emotionally honest lyrics, and his live performances are always heartfelt.

Then, on September 30, guitarist and flamenco singer Kiki Morente closes out the show with a nod to his heritage. A fitting conclusion to a festival that honours the entire range of sound, Kiki, the son of the renowned Enrique Morente, combines tradition and experimentation in a show that is both grounded and forward-thinking.
