Originally opening in 2021, On The Beach made its debut on Brighton’s seafront and is now firmly entering its fifth year along the south coast. After such stellar shows in its roster as Fatboy Slim, Chase & Status, Above & Beyond, Bicep, Underworld, Carl Cox, Royal Blood, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, The Libertines and The Kooks, On The Beach has quickly established itself as a major player in the UK’s already competitive festival landscape.
It’s the third year in a row that Radio X has teamed up with On The Beach. Last year memorable headline shows from Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Royal Blood had fans at the ready, with bitter sweet action from You Me At Six, The Vaccines,The Coral among many other bands marks the time. The Kooks and The Libertines headlined the Saturday and Sunday of The 2023 weekend respectively, with Kate Nash and The Futureheads also taking to the stage.
On The Beach returns to Brighton Beach in 2025 with another stunning lineup – and it’s topped by Kaiser Chiefs and Bloc Party.
Famed for their timeless anthems, Kaiser Chiefs will close the final weekend on Sunday 27th July as they return to perform on Brighton Beach. The band, who originate from Leeds and formed in 2000, will play their Employment album in full, plus hits including Ruby, I Predict A Riot and Oh My God. Best known for their energetic live shows, Kaiser Chiefs have sold over 8 million albums internationally and won 3 Brit Awards. Their set will be an epic end to the festival’s final weekend.
Bloc Party will head up to close the festival’s first weekend on Sunday, July 20. In a career that spans almost 20 years, Bloc Party’s blend of post-punk, electronic and other experimental sounds has influenced the British indie rock landscape. Their output is as lively and exuberant as the day their first album dropped, while their latest LP Alpha Games makes a strong case for them as one of the game’s most forward-thinking acts.
With more acts yet to be announced, we are on track for another unforgettable On The Beach in 2025. Sound good? Brace yourself for two weekends of fantastic live music, spectacular beach views, and unmissable acts in Brighton!
