Boomtown 2025: First Wave Lineup Announced with Major Changes

Boomtown Fair, the iconic music festival, which takes place annually at the Matterley Estate, within the South Downs National Park, Hampshire, has revealed the first wave of its 2025 lineup.

The much-loved Hampshire festival are famous for making a stunning and immersive experience through elaborate stage designs, and boasts a wide array of diverse musical offerings; and offered an early look at their line-up for the first time in five years. Boomtown, which usually reveals its acts a few weeks before the event, is well into the hype for Chapter 4: Power Of Now.

Due to take place between 6th and 10th August 2025 at Winchester’s Matterley Bowl, the festival will include an enormous range of genres, from punk and reggae to drum and bass, techno and folk.

Headliners and Highlights

Boomtown 2025 promises to bring something radical ahead of both legendary and contemporary acts.

  • Maribou State is back off the release of their new album Hallucinating Love
  • Jamaican dancehall royalty Sean Paul will lay down the bangers with some of his signature hits.
  • Now it’s punk rock’s turn, with The Sex Pistols fronted by Frank Carter.

Other acts to electrify the stage include US hip-house artist Azealia Banks, jungle sensation Nia Archives and major drum and bass pioneers Hybrid Minds.

Other highlights include the Blessed Madonna, Overmono, Honey Dijon, and reggae legends The Wailers. There’s nostalgia in the shape of disco legends Boney M and West Country favourites The Wurzels. Fans of folk-punk will have The Mary Wallopers and Ferocious Dog to look forward to.

New Stages and Expansions

Boomtown has always brought the festival to life like no other, but this year is set to be something beyond.

A new Hydro Stage dedicated to house, techno and disco, displaying 4×4 music in all its glory will also debut.

The iconic Origin Stage will be reimagined as an ancient temple, called The Lion’s Gate.

The cityscape festival has been growing beyond its Downtown bowl to envelop the surrounding hills, valleys, and woodlands, and in the process, offering the chance to wander a little further in more space.

Tickets are available now, and there are a few tiers to fit different budgets:
