Boardmasters Festival

Boardmasters Festival is an annual extravaganza held in the scenic Cornwall, United Kingdom, typically spanning five days on the second weekend of August. This dynamic event seamlessly blends live music performances with thrilling surfing and skateboarding competitions in and around the vibrant town of Newquay. Originally established in 1981 as a prestigious surfing competition, Boardmasters expanded its horizons in 2005 to incorporate electrifying music acts, captivating audiences at the stunning Watergate Bay. With a current capacity of 53,000 attendees, Boardmasters has grown into a must-attend event on the summer festival calendar.

The heart of the festival beats to the rhythm of live music performances, predominantly located to the north of Newquay near Watergate Bay. Meanwhile, the adrenaline-pumping Men's Pro 5 Star WQS surf competition unfolds on the renowned Fistral Beach, complemented by thrilling BMX and Skateboard competitions on a custom-built ramp. Other sporting highlights include The Women's Open, WSL Men's Longboard, WSL Women's Longboard, Boys/Girls Pro Junior, and Under 12's categories. Adding to the festival's allure is its well-being program, offering rejuvenating experiences such as aerial yoga, massages, wood-fired hot tubs, and indulgent champagne sessions.
