The creators of the UK’s oldest independent festival are launching a new venture this summer with the arrival of Found Festival, set to take place from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th August at the scenic Claydon Estate in Buckingham. Promising a carefully curated experience of music, culture, and community, Found Festival is set to combine exclusive acts and intimate settings with a rich heritage rooted in six decades of festival hosting.
After bidding farewell to Towersey Festival, which has been a family tradition for over 60 years, the Found Festival team is ready to embrace a new era. Mary Hodson, Co-Director of Found Festival, shares the spirit behind the new event: “With a deep-seated passion for curating unforgettable experiences, we've inherited the art of bringing people together through music, culture and community. Our rich heritage inspires everything about Found Festival; we believe that life's most meaningful moments happen when we step outside our daily routines and immerse ourselves in new experiences. Our festival is not just an event; it's an opportunity to experience creativity and connection and take it back to your daily life.”
A Unique Approach to Festival Line-ups
Breaking away from the traditional headliner-focused approach, Found Festival is a place to discover captivating acts and genres like Americana, Folk, Country, Roots, Blues, and World music. More than just performances, the line-up will blend spoken word, comedy, circus, and the arts, offering a range of talent that emphasises storytelling, connection, and creativity.
Artists will not only take to the stage but will also participate in talks and workshops where they’ll interact with festival-goers, fostering a unique connection with the audience. This hands-on approach will encourage festival-goers to not only enjoy the performances but also to engage with the artistic process.
Creating a Space for Participation and Discovery
Found Festival is designed to ignite creativity and foster community through a wide array of activities. Guests can look forward to workshops, dance classes, interactive art projects, outdoor learning sessions, and wellness activities. An extensive programme is set to be announced in the New Year, ensuring that visitors, whether they’re festival newcomers or veterans, have ample opportunities to learn new skills, explore new interests, and connect with others who share similar passions.
An Intimate Setting with Family in Mind
In an effort to create a truly intimate and relaxed festival experience, Found Festival will limit its attendance to just 2,000 guests. This countryside setting will provide plenty of space, giving families a safe environment where kids can roam freely and guests can set up comfortable camping areas. The programming is planned to be staggered, ensuring that visitors don’t miss out on any part of the experience, whether it’s a music act, a workshop, or a community gathering.
Gastronomy and More Beyond the Stage
Beyond the music and art, Found Festival will feature a selection of hand-picked street food vendors and craft drink options, offering festival-goers a unique and immersive culinary experience. This focus on quality and community reflects the festival's commitment to creating an experience that goes beyond the stage, leaving guests feeling relaxed, inspired, and “found.”
