Margate Soul Festival

Each August, Margate becomes the vibrant heart of the UK's soul music scene with the Margate Soul Festival. Celebrating its 22nd year, the festival will take place from Friday, August 2nd to Sunday, August 4th, in a brand new location.

Margate Soul Festival combines large-scale live shows, DJ-led street parties, beachside events, and an eclectic nightlife. It features a mix of DJs, international live acts, and some of the biggest names in British soul music. This year's lineup includes Philadelphia's Dexter Wansel and rising UK talent Izo Fitzroy as headliners for the Sunset Stage. Renowned DJs Brandon Block, Booker T, and Derrick Patterson are also set to perform.

The iconic Newgate Lower Promenade, beneath the Lido sign, will be the new home for the Sunset Stage. This historic entertainment venue will host headline acts like Harold Melvin’s Blue Notes and Heatwave. The festival will also offer a variety of locally sourced food and drink options, along with spaces for community groups and activities focused on environmental awareness.

In 2025, the Margate Soul Festival will carry on with the several sustainable initiatives, such as reusable cups and hybrid generators. Attendees can opt for bike rentals through Margate's social enterprise, The Bike Shed, to enjoy a car-free commute to the festival. Additionally, a free "soul train" service will be available throughout the event, ensuring easy and eco-friendly transportation.
