Description
StoomFest emerges as a vibrant celebration of underground Stoner, Doom, psychedelic, and heavy music scenes, both locally and globally. Originating from a shared dissatisfaction among musicians with the limited opportunities for emerging bands, the opaque nature of the local music scene, and the inability to witness overseas acts due to the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, StoomFest was conceived as a remedy to these challenges, aiming to invigorate the UK gigging scene.
Central to the festival's philosophy is its focus on musicians' well-being and fair compensation, alongside providing a platform for up-and-coming bands to showcase their talent on a larger scale. Moreover, StoomFest prioritizes affordability and community engagement, recognizing that the essence of live music lies in bringing people together.
Following a successful debut, StoomFest entered its second year with anticipation and excitement. Returning to the Garage in Highbury and Islington from July 5 to July 7, StoomFest24 promised an even more exhilarating experience, spanning multiple continents and uniting top domestic talents under one roof.
Key Highlights of StoomFest 2024 included a meticulously curated lineup featuring 21 bands, such as Nebula, Green Leaf, Dopelord, Acid Mammoth, and others. With the festival having expanded to three days, attendees also enjoyed an after-party at 'The Grace,' the Garage's sister venue. StoomFest prided itself on its commitment to fair pricing, ensuring that musicians received their fair share of merchandise sales by facilitating direct transactions and eliminating excessive table fees.
More than just a music festival, StoomFest 2024 promised an immersive sensory experience, from the intricately designed venue to the captivating performances carefully selected by the festival's music curator. If a band's music evoked emotions, it was a good fit for StoomFest, guaranteeing an unforgettable journey for attendees.
