The Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival is an annual music and arts festival, set against the stunning landscapes of Belladrum Estate in Kiltarlity, near Inverness, Scotland. First staged in 2004, the event takes place every first week of August. The festival has grown remarkably in a very short period, starting to sell out in advance since 2008, with a capacity of 20,000 persons in the 2019 edition.
Renowned for its eclectic musical lineup and family-friendly atmosphere, Belladrum caters for every taste. With grounds that boast an entire site sectioned off as a family campsite, to free entry for children under 12, this really is a festival for all ages. Among the many great acts to have appeared over the years have been Madness, Tom Jones, and Ed Sheeran.
There are a number of stages, each with its own atmosphere. From the main stage, set in the beautiful Italian Gardens, to the eclectic mix of genres at The Hot House and The Grassroots, the options are endless. Other stages include comedy, cabaret, emerging talent, and electronic music, rounding out a varied and interactive program for all participants.
Apart from the music, there's stuff like puppet workshops, arts and crafts, circus skills, and dance classes on offer in the Children's Zone at Belladrum. The Walled Garden provides a setting for therapies, while elsewhere there is also the Burke & Hare and the Free Range Folk stages, to name a few.
