Smokey Robinson Joins Love Supreme 2025 with 11 New Acts

Legendary King of Motown, Smokey Robinson, to play first UK show in 15 years for Love Supreme Jazz Festival 2025. Returning to Glynde Place, East Sussex from 4–6 July 2025, the event promises a weekend to remember full of world-class music.


A Legendary Artist

The GOAT himself Smokey Robinson has provided over 60 years of musicality with hits like Tears of a Clown, Tracks of My Tears, Being With You and much more. Outside of his work as a solo artist, Smokey’s songwriting has made an imprint on Motown, helping shape the careers of dozens of artists. This ultra-limited UK performance is set to be a headline moment for followers.

Alongside Smokey Robinson, 11 new artists have been announced for the 2025 festival, reflecting an exhilarating mix of jazz, soul, R&B and more:

  • Thee Sacred Souls: Soul, with a vintage flair.
  • Branford Marsalis: Saxophonist blending tradition and innovation
  • Stanley Clarke: A  pioneering bassist and jazz fusion icon.
  • Jamila Woods: Poetic kitchen sink soulful storytelling.
  • WAR: Funk legends behind Low Rider and Why Can’t We Be Friends?.
  • Sampa The Great: An artist melding hip-hop with soul and African sounds.
  • Arooj Aftab: Ethereal vocals and boundary-pushing soundscapes from the Grammy-winning artist.
  • Lakecia Benjamin: A blistering saxophonist known for her flamboyant energy.
  • Durand Jones & The Indications: Modern soul revivalists.

Maxwell’s Exclusive UK Show

The festival has also signed up Maxwell, who will headline Sunday night in his first UK appearance in nine years, and his only UK show of 2025. Shout out smooth vocals and neo-soul anthems like Ascension and Pretty Wings, Maxwell’s performance pairs well as another festival highlight..
