The Libertines are set to headline a major outdoor concert next summer at London’s Gunnersbury Park on Saturday, 9 August 2025, with special guests Supergrass joining the line-up. The event promises to be a standout in the 2025 music calendar, also featuring acts Soft Play, Hak Baker, Lambrini Girls, and Real Farmer.
The band’s announcement was accompanied by a light-hearted video, in which they shared their excitement about the upcoming show. Commenting on the venue’s significance, The Libertines said, “The old white mansion in Gunnersbury Park is in one of our favourite films, The Lavender Hill Mob, so we thought we’d bring the Eastern Esplanade mob and some spiky guitars to that Arcadian glade in West London for a good ol’ homecoming knees-up. Look forward to seeing you there, along with our friends Supergrass, Soft Play, Hak Baker, Lambrini Girls and Real Farmer.”
Tickets go on sale at 10AM on Friday, 8 November 2024 via Ticketmaster.
Since their arrival in the late 1990s, The Libertines have carved out a unique space in British music with their blend of rough-edged tunes, red military jackets, and raw lyrics. Led by the enigmatic partnership of Peter Doherty and Carl Barât, with John Hassall and Gary Powell on rhythm, they redefined millennial angst and revitalised London’s bohemian spirit. Their latest album, All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade, released earlier this year, marked their second UK No. 1 and brought them back together from their various homes across France, Denmark, Margate, and London. Now, they’re ready to reunite for this massive London homecoming show.
Joining The Libertines are Oxford legends Supergrass, whose 1993 formation led to an influential career marked by timeless hits like Alright and Caught by the Fuzz. Their debut album, I Should Coco, topped the UK charts and catapulted the band to international acclaim. Reflecting on their connection with The Libertines, drummer Danny Goffey said, “We’re so pleased to be involved in the Gunnersbury Park gig with The Libertines. Gunnersbury Park is an amazing venue. We first played with The Libertines 22 years ago in 2002. Time flies when you’re having fun. See you there!”
Rounding out the bill are an eclectic mix of supporting acts. Soft Play, the fiery British punk duo of Laurie Vincent and Isaac Holman, will bring their high-energy performance to the park. East End singer-songwriter Hak Baker, known for his storytelling prowess, adds a touch of raw British soul. Brighton’s Lambrini Girls, with their unapologetic punk style, and Dutch garage-punk group Real Farmer, complete the line-up.
Gunnersbury Park has firmly established itself as one of London’s favourite outdoor venues, attracting an array of top-tier artists across genres. In 2024, the park hosted unforgettable performances from acts such as PJ Harvey, Peggy Gou, KoRn, Tom Grennan, and FISHER, with more exciting shows scheduled for August 2025, including the previously announced Khruangbin.
Tickets for The Libertines’ Gunnersbury Park show go on general sale at 10AM on Friday, 8 November 2024 via Ticketmaster. Don’t miss out on what promises to be a memorable evening of music in the heart of West London.
