The We Out Here Festival will be headed back to Wimborne St Giles in Dorset from August 14th–17th 2025. The festival, curated by longtime BBC 6 Music DJ Gilles Peterson, has become one of the highlights of the summer calendar, featuring an eclectic mix of jazz, soul, rap, hip hop and funk. As the first wave of acts has been announced, excitement is growing for what will surely be a phenomenal weekend.
Heading up the first wave of artists announced is the incomparable Michael Kiwanuka who took home the Mercury Prize for a reason, this artist will not be one to miss with his soulful storytelling and innovative sound. His new album, Small Changes, released this month, is his first big project in five years. With co-producing from Brian “Danger Mouse” Burton and Inflo, the album explores themes of transformation, love and self-reflection, cementing Kiwanuka’s place as one of modern music’s most compelling vocalists. We Out Here is a festival known for mixing iconic performers with up-and-coming talent in perfect measure, and the 2025 edition is no different. In addition to Kiwanuka, the first wave includes the genre-melding artistry of Pa Salieu, the Afrobeat splendor of Kokoroko and the legendary Latin grooves of Joe Bataan. Also appearing are Nala Sinephro, Everything Is Recorded, Ganavya, James Mason, Incognito and Bashy, ensuring diverse sounds from across genres and generations.
A stand-out feature last year, the stage for the Rhythm Corner, will return to much fanfare. Known for its relaxed but lively vibe, the stage will once again be a center of progressive DJ sets. With its one-of-a-kind atmosphere and diverse curation, the Rhythm Corner is set to be a festival pillar.
