Description
Wychwood Festival, which always seems to be nominated for Best Family Festival at the UK Festival Awards and often heralded as the No. 1 Festival by The Sunday Times, has in store a delicious smorgasbord of treats for every age of festival attendee. Set beneath the beautiful Prestbury Hills, this idyllic summer-opening festival promises an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
There's never a moment of boredom with more than 100 acts spanning indie, world, and folk genres across four stages. From toe-tapping to rib-tickling comedy-one for every taste. Visitors can also attend more than 100 workshops, be immersed in the Headphone Disco experience, explore the Children's Literature Festival, and enjoy delicious food and refreshing Wychwood Ales.
But that's not all folks: Wychwood Festival is filled to the brim with a whole host of attractions including Healing Gardens, the Artists and Sculpturers Quarter and tranquil camp grounds where people can relax underneath a star-filled sky.
During the years, the event has attracted artists such as The Boomtown Rats, The Proclaimers, Bill Bailey, UB40's Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue, The Levellers, Newton Faulkner, Craig Charles, 10cc, The Waterboys, Duffy, Supergrass, The Stranglers, and The Human League.
Sponsored by Wychwood Brewery, home of the award-winning Hobgoblin brand, and in conjunction with the University of Gloucestershire, for Wychwood Festival it's very much a collaborative effort that reaches far beyond the music. The festival also includes the Wychwood FM Radio Station and acoustic Wychwood FM Stage, which are programmed and staffed by students from the university. There's also the Children's Literature Festival in association with Waterstones and a partnership with the children's charity Toybox.
Headliners in 2024 included the blistering performances by Sister Sledge, Texas, and Ocean Colour Scene. It was little wonder that Wychwood Festival kept its crown of being the UK's number one family-friendly festival with so much on offer for all ages.
