Y Not Festival Announces Headliners and First Wave of Acts for 2025

The Y Not Festival has unveiled its headliners and the initial line-up for its 2025 edition, set to run from 31 July to 3 August in Derbyshire. The eighteenth instalment of this iconic festival will feature The Prodigy, Courteeners, and Madness as headliners, with The Wombats kicking things off on Thursday for early-entry ticket holders.

Alongside these stellar headliners, the first wave of acts includes Primal Scream, Franz Ferdinand, Sigrid, Shed Seven, hard life (formerly Easy Life), Annie Mac, Maximo Park, Professor Green, and The Last Dinner Party, with many more still to be announced.


A Weekend of Headlining Icons

The Prodigy (Friday, 1 August)

One of the most influential electronic acts of all time, The Prodigy are set to electrify Y Not with their legendary hits like Firestarter and Breathe. Pioneers of the UK rave scene, they’ve sold millions of albums worldwide and have two BRIT Awards under their belt. Expect an unforgettable show from these dance music trailblazers.

Courteeners (Saturday, 2 August)

Fresh from releasing their seventh album Pink Cactus Cafe, the Courteeners return to Y Not to headline Saturday. Known for their hook-filled anthems and captivating performances, their latest work showcases an upbeat, pop-infused sound that promises to be a crowd-pleaser.

Madness (Sunday, 3 August)

Few bands can bring the energy and fun that Madness do. With a setlist packed full of timeless hits like Our House, It Must Be Love, and Baggy Trousers, the ska legends guarantee a “proper knees-up” to close the festival.

The Wombats (Thursday, 31 July)

Opening the festival on Thursday night, The Wombats will perform tracks from their forthcoming album Oh! The Ocean, releasing in February 2025. Known for their playful yet deeply meaningful songwriting, the band’s latest work blends genres like futuristic fuzz rock and sci-fi pop.

The weekend’s supporting acts promise an eclectic mix of genres and styles:

  • Primal Scream – The Scottish rockers behind the genre-defining Screamadelica.
  • The Last Dinner Party – Returning with their Mercury-nominated album Prelude to Ecstasy.
  • Franz Ferdinand – Expect crowd-pleasers like Take Me Out and Do You Want To.
  • Sigrid – A critically acclaimed pop artist known for her soaring vocals and catchy hits.
  • hard life – Formerly Easy Life, with their signature indie-pop sound.
  • Annie Mac – Bringing her legendary DJing skills to the festival.
  • Indie favourites like Maximo Park, The Pigeon Detectives, and Vistas, alongside acts such as Professor Green, The Hunna, and Red Rum Club.
